After years of hearing from local mountain bikers/hikers about the wild horses along the Verde River i finally had my own encounter. this photo was taken on July 1, 2011 approximately 5 miles due North of the Ft. McDowell ruins.
I was driving back to Phoenix from the Four Peaks Wilderness area on 7/22/13 and saw 5 wild horses in the Verde River near Fort McDowell. What a beautiful site. I got some nice pictures of them to share with friends and family.
